About Us
Sacavin is a community of wine lovers brought together by a shared enthusiasm for good wine, good food and good company. Through tastings, dinners, visits and travels, members share experiences, discover new wines and enjoy the friendships that have always been at the heart of the Commanderie.
Our Story
The British Commanderie was established in 1969 as part of the international development of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Sacavin, whose origins in Anjou date back to 1904. Since then, Sacavin has maintained close links with the Loire while developing its own programme of events and activities in Great Britain.

The Loire Connection
Our roots remain firmly connected to Anjou and the Loire Valley, one of France’s great wine regions. Members regularly have opportunities to discover its wines and meet the people who produce them, including visits to vineyards and wineries and occasional participation in events organised by the Confrérie in France.
Sacavin Today
Today, Sacavin continues to bring members together throughout the year for wine tastings, dinners and other social occasions, including our annual Chapitre. Regular visits to the Loire add another dimension, combining wine and gastronomy with the pleasure of exploring the region together.
